THE Rotary Club of Altrincham together with Ladies Inner Wheel organisation held a joint event at the Cresta Court Hotel Altrincham
THE Rotary Club of Altrincham together with Ladies Inner Wheel organisation held a joint event at the Cresta Court Hotel Altrincham on February 25.
The event was a fundraiser for 'Mary’s Meals' and was attended by 111 people. The event was organised by Margaret Curry 'overseas organiser' and Jacqui Baguley from Inner Wheel and Ian Allan from Altrincham Rotary Club.
A film and talk was provided by Duncan Hamlett of Mary's Meals, an organisation started more than 10 years ago. The event raised more than £800 with £1 per head donated from the meal and a raffle to raise funds for underprivileged children worldwide.
To educate these children and feed them costs just over £10 per child per year.
The aim is to get them to attend school where their only meal of the day will be provided.
