Trafford Council seeks to appoint £50,000-a-year town centre manager for Altrincham
8:20am Saturday 2nd March 2013 in News
The post of Altrincham town centre manager will be part of Trafford Council’s Economic Growth Directorate, and will be based in the town centre.
ALTRINCHAM is to have a full-time town centre manager for the first time.
The post will be part of Trafford Council’s Economic Growth Directorate, and will be based in the town centre.
The manager will lead a small Town Team, and will work closely with Altrincham Forward, the town’s public/private regeneration partnership.
One of the duties of the job will be to develop a ‘management model’ that can be used for Trafford’s other town centres.
Cllr Matt Colledge, the leader of Trafford Council, said: “Until now work on improving Altrincham has been managed by part-time staff.
“This post will be focused on driving forward the revitalisation of the town centre.”
A programme of major regeneration schemes is about to begin in Altrincham, and Altrincham Forward has brought local businesses together to work in partnership to improve and promote the town centre offer.
Work is also under way to produce Year Two of the action and delivery plan for the town centre.
Cllr Colledge added: “Over the past 18 months, a lot of people have worked extremely hard to put in place an ambitious action plan for Altrincham, but it has been achieved on a piecemeal basis.
“The various redevelopment schemes, the growing work with landlords, local businesses, the community and external agencies now requires a dedicated manager on the ground in the town centre, not in the town hall.”
- The position has been advertised, and has a salary range of £46,599 to £51,665.
