New Pets at Home store in Altrincham launches search for charity partners

PETS at Home is pledging to help pet charities in the Altrincham area as it prepares to open a new store in the town in April.

Store manager Robert Stevenson is appealing to people to nominate animal organisations or charities they would like to see partnered with the store through Support Adoption For Pets, the charity established and supported by Pets at Home.

The partnerships will help ensure that as many abandoned animals as possible are re-homed into loving environments, where they will be well cared for by their new owners.

Support Adoption For Pets has raised more than £1.65 million in the past 12 months thanks to the fundraising efforts of sraff and customers. The money has been used to provide financial support to animal welfare charities and re-homing centres across the UK.

There are dedicated adoption centres in the majority of Pets at Home stores across the UK. These centres are home to a range of different pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small animals, all looking for a second chance of happiness, often due to a change in their owner’s circumstances.

The new store hopes to be partnered with organisations in time for the grand opening on April 5. Robert and his team are asking people to get in touch to help find those charities that really make a difference to the welfare of pets and animals in and around Altrincham.

He said: “We want to be at the heart of the pet community, supporting local charities and helping them to continue their good work, whether through in store events, fundraising or donations.

“We’d love to hear from any pet welfare organisations and re-homing centres in the area so we can talk to them about our Support Adoption For Pets charity and how we can help their organisation.”
