Firefighters from Altrincham Blue Watch put out the fire with a hose reel
A CAR was completely destroyed in a fire in Timperley yesterday.
The burning Vauxhall Astra was seen on the roadway on Brook Lane, at around 3.30pm.
Firefighters from Altrincham Blue Watch put out the fire with a hose reel, but the fire had already caused too much damage to the vehicle for it to be salvaged, in fact the blaze was so potent it even melted some of the tarmac on the road.
The fire is not thought to be suspicious and may have been caused by an over-heated engine.
