A TEENAGER was left red-faced after firefighters had to rescue her from a baby swing in an Altrincham park.
The 14-year-old was with two friends at Stamford Park on February 21, when she and one of her companions decided to get into the children’s’ swings.
When she tried to get out again she found she could not and after some efforts, firefighters were called at around 4.20pm.
The crew from Altrincham Fire Station arrived and was able to quickly free the girl using a tool kit, unscrewing the swing before putting it back together.
White Watch manager, Stuart France, said the teenager had only been trapped for around 20 minutes and was embarrassed rather than hurt.
He added: “We generally try to work around things instead of destroying them, so we unscrewed the swing rather than cutting her out.”
