CELEBRITIES including Corrie’s Sally Webster and television presenter Jenny Powell have donated some of their own clothing to a pre-loved fashion event in aid of CAFT.

Schedules allowing, the stars may even attend the event, which is taking place at the Mere Court Hotel, Mere, Knutsford, on March 20.

Faye McDonough, who owns the eco-friendly Bright and Beautiful cleaning company in Hale, said she came up with the idea for the event after seeing lots of charity bin bags outside her clients’ homes.

“We were seeing so many blue bags but people just don’t get round to taking them to charity shops,” said Faye.

She then proposed to put charity bags together on her clients’ behalf, along with some information on Hale-based Childrens’ Adventure Farm Trust and then take them to CAFT charity shop.

“But then that thought kind of developed, because people had some really nice things that are hardly used which were just going to waste.”

On the day, a collection of pre-owned clothing, much of which is designer, will be showcased in a fashion show and attendees will be able to purchase them afterwards.

Afternoon tea will also be served in the conservatory, with all proceeds donated to CAFT.

Faye said: “We just want to raise awareness of CAFT really as it’s so local and we don’t often concentrate enough on what’s on our doorstep.”

Tickets are £25 and are selling fast as only 150 places are available, for more information call Julie Gray on 01565 830053 or email jgray@caft.co.uk.
