Stretford and Urmston MP holds Fairtrade coffee morning
1:00pm Wednesday 27th February 2013 in News
AS part of Fairtrade Fortnight, MP Kate Green will be hosting her annual FairTrade coffee morning on March 1 at her office in Urmston.
Constituents are invited to attend the event at the Morris Hall, Atkinson Road, from 10am – 11.30am.
Fairtrade tea and coffee will be on sale, as well as cakes, biscuits and other treats made from fair-trade ingredients, and all proceeds will go to Action Aid.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Ms Green said: “"During this global economic downturn, it is vital that world trade continues. Our shopping habits can make a real difference to the world's poorest people.
"Fair Trade helps support 7.5 million people in the developing world. By buying fairly-traded food and gifts from developing countries we will help grow their economies and reduce poverty.
I’m really looking forward to the coffee morning and I hope that lots of people will attend."
