Advice day at Trafford Centre for Independent Living in Sale
3:00pm Thursday 21st February 2013 in News
TRAFFORD’S Centre for Independent Living is hosting a ‘Telecare Marketplace’ on February 27.
The free event, between 3.30pm and 7pm is at Marshall House, 2, Park Avenue, Sale.
The event has come about as part of Trafford Council’s commitment to work with organisations to promote the benefits of Telecare.
Staff will be on hand to give local people information and advice about the variety of independent living aids and Telecare equipment available. They will also be able to chat about housing, information and advocacy and visitors will be able to meet care providers.
Executive councillor Michael Young said the council is committed to support vulnerable people and the important part Telecare equipment plays in this cannot be overemphasised.
“The council continues to invest in services which support and help vulnerable people. Having Telecare available to support local people over 18 with an illness, sight or hearing loss, physical or learning disability or in the early stages of dementia is helping so many stay living independently in their own home. While this is important for them, the reassurance Telecare can give their relatives is enormous and something we want to see continue."
“I'd urge as many people as possible to get along to the event at the Centre for Independent Living and find out just how they can be helped.”
