5:06pm Wednesday 13th February 2013 in News
Charlotte Upton, 21, from Manchester, who was a runner-up in last-year's competition, has since modelled for Curvy Kate
An award-winning lingerie company is calling on curvy girls from across Trafford to become the face of its brand and win 12-month modelling contract with the firm.
Curvy Kate is appealing for charismatic, D-Cup girls to enter its fifth annual 'Star in a Bra' competiton, to help promote diverse body shapes and show how good a curvy figure looks in lingerie.
As well as a year-long modelling contract, the winner will also receive a year’s supply of Curvy Kate lingerie.
The search is run through the brand's Facebook page, and this year's competition, which is open to women of all agaes and bosy shapes, will open for entries on Valentine's Day, February 14.
Last-year's winner, Sophie Morhan, said: "Winning this competition meanT so much to me, I wanted to feel like I was doing something positive for myself and to raise my self-confidence.
"I followed the competition for a few years and felt inspired by all of the beautiful girls who entered each year."
Curvy Kate's Marketing and PR Manager, Hannah Houston said: "We truly believe that our customers should model our lingerie as these are the girls who will be buying it.
"Our model search is here to prove how gorgeous a shapely figure looks in lingerie.
"We have found a great mix of models since the launch in 2009. Every single one of the girls brings their own spark and personality to the brand and our customers can see exactly how our lingerie would look on a shape similar to them."
Department store giant Debenhams will be the competition's main retail sponsor this year, with participating stores in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Southend holding in-store events including live models, body confidence talks, bra fittings and compettions.
