Altrincham firms join forces for promotion
3:34pm Wednesday 13th February 2013 in News
WITH Valentine’s Day on Thursday, Altrincham has taken the opportunity to promote some of its many wedding related businesses.
The town has attracted a growing cluster of shops and services that can cater for every aspect of organising that special day.
Altrincham Forward arranged with Miller Developments for retailers to use the empty window space in The Graftons frontage on Stamford New Road, and it now contains an eye catching wedding themed display.
Alison Gleave, owner of bridal and event florist Lasting Memories and a member of Altrincham Forward’s Retailers Forum, coordinated the project, contacted other businesses and created the displays.
Eaden Floristry & Balloons, Fab Patisserie, The Bridal Path, Jacky’s Sweet Treats, H Samuel, Randalls, Fix My Photo, Mike Browne Photography, Local Creation, Cheshire Bridal Wear, Perfect Weddings and J’Adore Bridal Boutique are the other local businesses involved in the promotion.
Alison said today: “The idea came out of the first Retailers Forum in January and I was glad to be able to help make it happen. There has been a fantastic response from other businesses and local people who have said what a difference it has made. The Forum will be working on more ideas to promote local businesses and I would encourage all retailers to get involved.”
Altrincham Forward is now planning more themed displays in the space throughout the year and will be working the Landlords Forum to target additional windows to showcase local businesses. Cllr Matt Colledge, Chair of Altrincham Forward said: “This is great use of previously empty space and improves the look of the town centre as well as promoting our local businesses. It also demonstrates how we are successfully bringing people from all sectors of the community to work together. In this case we are particularly grateful to Miller Developments for agreeing for the space to be used and to Alison for her time and commitment.”
The date of the next Retailers Forum will be announced soon and the information will be sent to all retailers on the Altrincham Forward database.
