Armed robbery at Sainsbury's Local, Timperley

The armed robbery took place at the Sainsbury’s Local store, on Stockport Road
ROBBERS brandishing a hand held axe and a metal tool stole cash and cigarettes from Sainsbury’s in Timperley last night.
The armed robbery took place at the Sainsbury’s Local store, on Stockport Road, at around 9.20pm.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said two men entered the store carrying the axe and a tyre lever type implement, before jumping over the till and threatening the sales assistant.
They stole cash from the till and cigarettes before escaping in a black Fiat Punto.
