ALTRINCHAM property experts are urging Trafford landlords to take advantage of a new funding scheme that will make their properties more energy efficient.

The government’s Green Deal, launched on January 28, allows landlords to make a number of property improvements with no upfront cost.

Landlords can claim cashback payments for improvements which include up to £650 for solid wall insulation and £270 for a condensing boiler.

Managing director of residential letting agent, Jordan’s in Altrincham, is also urging landlords to act before the £40 million improvement funding runs out.

“I’d urge anyone who is keen to take advantage of the Green Deal to organise an energy assessment of their property as soon as possible. The assessment will reveal measures that can be taken to improve the property,” he said.

“Tenants are taking more interest in how much their bills are likely to be and I’m finding that energy efficient homes are becoming much more attractive.”
