HOUSEHOLDS across Trafford are set to see a rise in their water bills from April 1 2013.

United Utilities announced the average household water bill is set to rise to around £406, up £13 on last year, largely due to inflation.

Gary Dixon, United Utilities’ customer services director, said: “We’ll be putting that money to good use, by ensuring the region’s water network, treatment works and sewer systems get the investment needed to deliver the service our customers expect.”

Quite right dipperdapper. It would be interesting to know, if anybodies goes up less than the £13, because in the past, mine and everybody that I have asked, has always gone up more than the average.

£160 million profit after tax for 2012 isn't enough.

united utilities can do what they want, they know all they will get its maybe a week of moaning but also know like everything else in this country it will be forgotten so get away with it and so every year the bills keep going up and up

What nonsense from UU, if the increase is largely due to inflation then how can you invest it?

The problem with water companies is that they are regional monopolies. I am largely in favour of privatisation and choice but water companies should really be nationalised.
