A TIMPERLEY-based charity has donated a £550 worth of baby goodies to a village group that helps youngsters in need.
The gifts – presented by David Hulme, the chairman of the 33, the charity organisation, included baby nappies, tins and jars of baby food, shampoos, nappies and baby wipes.
The grateful recipients are Altrincham Foodbank, which is based at Timperley Methodist Church.
The 33 – set up in 1945 – raises its funds by raffles, fetes and donations.
Bob Kirkwood, 33’s chairman of grants and donations committee, said: “It’s a very rewarding experience to help kiddies in need.
“That is what our charity is all about – helping the needy.”
David said: "It gave me and our members a glow in the heart to help a very worthwhile cause.”
He added: “We always help where we can.”
Altrincham Fodbank's project manager,Hayley Entwistle, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you for the support the 33 has shown to the Foodbank.
“Their generous donation will help us to keep feeding local families in need well into the new year.”
She added financial donations are crucial. With them, the foodbank can buy more plastic boxes to help preserve food in its warehouse until it is given to those in need.
