A NUMBER of Trafford businesses are launching an exciting new programme to catapult construction industry enthusiasts into their dream careers.

The £32 million scheme is backed by a number of partners including Trafford College,Trafford Council and Chamber of Commerce.

The companies have joined forces to provide business training and apprenticeships to people of all ages.

The initiative has been described as a way of investing in the young professionals of tomorrow, giving them the skills they need to meet industry standards and increase employability.

The plans are expected to drive forward regeneration, business engagement and economic growth.

New recruits will be given the opportunity to develop their careers in a variety of disciplines including project management, joinery and logistics.

Apprentices will also be able to kick start their professional portfolios working with ISG on Trafford College’s new £9million science and technology redevelopment.

Theresa Grant, chief executive of Trafford Council, said: “Young people are a key focus of this agenda, bringing fresh ideas, commitment and energy to businesses.”
