Trafford's council tax to be frozen

TRAFFORD'S ruling Conservative group has confirmed it will freeze council tax this year.

Executive member for finance, Cllr Sean Anstee, said they would also aim to freeze the tax next year.

He said: "This will require a significant amount of work to balance the budget, but it is important residents know that this is what we are striving to achieve."

Why are you freezing the council tax?

For votes?

Because people cant afford it?

I would like to say -PUT IT UP!!

You cannot afford not to.

Look at all the cuts you have made...

How many people have you laid off?

How many services have you chopped?

You dont even have the staff anymore to answer the phone!!!

Do us all a favour, improve the service for all , even a small rise of £10.00 to £50.00 per household will make a massive difference which will help so many people.

Can I also add that morale in your current staff is at an all time low, you have asked the ones that you havn't made redundant to take another week off as unpaid holiday.

Im sure they are well Chuffed!!

Get over the fact that this is camerons 'flagship' council'.

Your skint .. deal with it ,Freezing a rise or next years isnt going to work.

Dont blame the government for the fact that they are skint too and cant give us anymore.

Make a rise, £50.00 on top of the £1200.00 we already pay wont make a difference to the majority of us, to some it will and I apologise for that but your skint , broke and you need more money.

All this rubbish about freezing the poll tax just whitewashs your problems.

Get us back to having a great council where people want to work, live and play.

Without the right staff, amenities, nursing homes, schools and all the other things that you are responsible for - you have nothing but doom and gloom.

We used to be good - what went wrong (oh yes - we froze the council tax) .

mms98, if you feel so strongly about paying more council tax then why don't you write a cheque payable to 'Trafford Council' for the £50 you suggest!

Bob, Like i said , no one like's paying more than they need to, but we all want certain jobs done by the council , bins emptied, roads swept ...etc.

Trafford council are cutting services and staff because they are spending more than is coming in , even after all the parking charges , fines for not paying the council tax on time , dropping a peice of paper on the floor etc

We all need to pay a little more for the services that we need.

Freezing council tax doesnt help anyone, it just masks a big problem and laying the blame on this government or past wont help.

Look down your road , see any potholes?

Tried phoning the council? no one to answer the phone in most departments.

Try the main switch on 0161 912 2000

FIRST OPTION, " If you want to pay a bill !! Press 1"

Says it all really!!

Its not a question of wether I or anyone wants to pay more , we need to be realistic and pay more!!
