LISTED Building Consent is being sought for the refurbishment and alteration of Stamford House and Atlanta Chambers, on Stamford New Road, Altrincham.

External works will include the installation of shop fronts, windows and doors at ground floor level of Stamford House; removal of existing roof and replacement with monopitch roof behind the parapet.

If plans are approved, part of Atlanta Chambers will be demolished while a new car park and of boundary wall will be constructed.

Internal works will include the refurbishment and alteration of the historic fabric of the first, second and third floors to provide residential accommodation; demolition of selected internal timber and glazed partitions on the upper floors and the removal of party wall between shop units five and six.at ground floor level.
