Chance for Trafford businesses to meet the buyer
12:00pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News
BUSINESSES are being invited to meet with Trafford Council's procurement team and learn more about forthcoming contract opportunities.
The annual Meet the Buyer event takes place at Sale Waterside Arts Centre, on March 8, between 9.30am-2pm.
It offers 20 minute slots for firms to meet the buying teams of their choice, find out about opportunities to supply goods and services to the public sector and how to ensure that access to those opportunities are maximised.
Partner organisations will also be hosting stalls to offer information and advice to businesses. These include Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Kier Construction, May Gurney, ARCO, TNT, Supplies Team , OCE, Alstom/Duro Felguera (tbc) and Sale and Altrincham Chamber of Commerce.
Executive councillor Michael Hyman said: "Meet the Buyer has been growing in popularity every year and last year's event saw more than 130 companies involved.
"It is a great opportunity for us to get to know local businesses, who we are keen to support as much as we can, and for them to find out more about how they can make the most of the opportunities that are available. I would encourage people to quickly sign up for this event so they don't miss the chance to take part."
There is no charge to attend this event, however there is limited availability. To ensure that you secure a place, contact corporate.procurement@trafford.gov.uk or call Mary Pacer on 0161 912 1285.
