STAFF at the Co-op foodstore in Timperley hit all the right notes at the launch of a charity drive.

The store's employees tuned into a 'Rock Around the Clock' theme to kickstart the Co-op's 'record' breaking year of fundraising for its new charity of the year, Carers Trust.

The theme was to acknowledge the 24/7 nature of the challenges facing an estimated 500,000 young people, across the UK, who care for an ill, frail or disabled family member or friend.

Scott Livingstone, manager of the Timperley store, said: “We’re delighted that we have the chance to make a difference to the lives of young people in our communities who undertake practical and emotional caring responsibilities for a family member or friend who cannot cope without their support.”
