SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES LATEST: Trafford College has announced it is open as normal today, Monday. The college closed early on Friday because of the snow.
The college has issued the following advice to its students: Please take extra care when travelling to and from college.

OFFENDERS carrying out Community Payback in Trafford have cleared snow and spread grit at schools across the borough as part of their sentence.
Over the weekend a total of 20 offenders, under supervision by Greater Manchester Probation Trust (GMPT), braved sub-zero temperatures to remove snow and ice from a range of public places in the borough to make the area safe.
Seven schools were gritted by offenders during the on-going project, which was organised in partnership with Trafford Council. A team of eight offenders are also gritting schools today.
Community Payback is a punishment for breaking the law, rigorously supervised and enforced by probation.
Trafford Council Leader Matt Colledge said that Community Payback complements the work carried out by the council’s gritting teams, who “continue to work day and night to ensure local people remain safe.”
He added: “I welcome this partnership with GMPT which has seen offenders working hard to clear snow from around local schools and community buildings.”
