THE campaign to save services at Trafford General Hospital was given a major boost last night as councillors voted to refer the plans to Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt.
A meeting of the joint all-party Trafford and Manchester City Council health scrutiny committee unanimously voted to refer the closure plans to the Health Secretary.
This came ahead of a meeting today of the Trafford Strategic Programme Board, which is due to give its final recommendation on the proposals, which include downgrading the hospital's A & E department.
