METROLINK is holding an information event on proposals for a new stop on the Bury line.
The new stop would be located off Queens Road on the Bury Metrolink line, next to the existing tram depot, and would be the first stop after leaving Manchester Victoria.
The event may be of interest to Messenger readers as the Altrincham line merges with the Bury line.
It will take place on January 9, 3pm-7pm at the Irish World Heritage Centre, 10 Queens Road, Manchester.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) submitted a planning application for the stop to Manchester City Council in December last year with a decision expected in early 2013.
Philip Purdy, TfGM’s Metrolink Director, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for local residents and businesses to come and find out more about our proposals and to learn how a new Queens Road stop can benefit the community.”
