A FEMALE pedestrian suffered a serious head injury after being hit by a car in Sale.
The incident occurred at the merger between Washway Road and Cross Street, close to the Bulls Head pub, at around 11.30pm on December 21.
A police spokesman confirmed that a Seat Leon collided with a 29-year-old woman.
She suffered a serious head injury and was said to be bleeding at the mouth and was taken to Hope Hospital by ambulance.
A witness said six or seven police cars were at the scene, as well as two ambulances.
He said: “We were on our way home from a Christmas party when we were stopped by police outside the courts on Washway Road as they were controlling the traffic due to the accident.”
