Indian student Souvik Pal missing after New Year's Eve event at the Warehouse Project, Trafford Quays
4:17pm Wednesday 2nd January 2013 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
AN Indian student has been reported missing after attending a New Years Eve event in Trafford.
Souvik Pal, who is 18, was reported missing by a flatmate at about 5.30am on January 1.
He was last seen at the Warehouse Project, which is located on Trafford Wharf Road, at about 10pm on December 31.
It is thought he was asked to leave the event 1.30am.
Mr Pal is an international student and speaks with an Indian accent.
He is Asian, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and has a scar on the right side of his forehead.
He was last seen wearing a pale denim long sleeve shirt with a collar, grey chino trousers and navy blue leather boots.
Det Ch Insp Colin Larkin said: "It has now been more than 24 hours since we have been carrying out our enquiries and we are growing increasingly concerned for Souvik’s safety.
"He has never been reported missing before.
"Specialist officers have been in contact with Souvik's family in India and our understanding is that his father will be coming to the UK, such is the level of concern from his loved ones.
"We have been speaking to people who were at the Warehouse Project who saw him, however it would help us greatly if we heard from anyone else there who can help us.
"We believe that he was asked to leave the club at 1.30am, so anyone who was leaving at the time is and who may have seen where he went is asked to call us."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4223 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
