HAVING been elbowed out by the elections for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections, the pop-up Charities Christmas card shop is now open in Sale library.
Originally due to open on November 10, organisers were suddenly asked to dismantle everything as that particular area had been reserved for the local polling station.
The Sale charity volunteers packed up the displays of cards and gifts and stocking fillers without complaint. Once the polling boxes were counted up and dispatched, the volunteers moved back in to reclaim their area and set up shop ready for the Saturday opening.
Sale organiser Carol Hall hopes that those shoppers disappointed by the delayed opening will nonetheless return and continue to support the charities knowing that every penny from the card sales goes to the charities.
The Charities Christmas shop stays open until December 8. Opening hours can be found at www.christmas-cards.org.uk.
