A SALE toddler, who suffers from a genetic disorder, will be the guest of honour at a special fundraiser on November 23.

Two-year-old Ellie Jim suffers from neurofibromatosis (NF), an incurable condition that causes multiple tumours and an event is being held at the Quakers Meeting House, on Park Road, to mark the second year anniversary of her diagnosis.

Ellie’s mum, Carly, 31, of Atkinson Road, wanted to create something positive from her daughter’s diagnosis, while also raising awareness of the condition.

She said: “We don’t want it to be a depressing time so we decided to do something different. We want everyone to have a really nice, lighthearted evening.”

A clairvoyant will be among the attractions on the night, as well as an auction, stalls and a tombola, and all proceeds will be donated to Children with Tumours, Confer and the Neuro Foundation.

Those attending will be able to get but some last-minute Christmas presents, including the ‘Ellie’ bracelet from and Fancy-Dress for NF calendars.

NF affects 25,000 people in the UK and as well as multiple tumours, it can cause complications that include , deafness, disfigurement, skeletal problems and even cancer.

Since Ellie’s diagnosis at five months old, Carly and husband John, have worked endlessly to ensure that others understand the condition.

Mum-of-two Carly added: “I never want another family to have to feel the way I did and by raising money for all the charities that support people affected by neurofibromatosis, we are helping to make it a household name.”

Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 at the door. To purchase tickets or donate an auction prize, email To make a cash donation to NF charities, visit
