NORTH West children’s hospice Francis House has unveiled a new mascot - and he came face to face with football legend Ryan Giggs.

Francis Mouse, a life sized furry mouse, will help promote the work of the hospice that provides care and support for children and their families with life-limiting conditions.

Francis Mouse donned his sports kit to meet up with Manchester Unitefd star Ryan and Fred the Red at United’s training ground in Carrington.

Ryan said: “I’ve visited Francis House and seen for myself the amazing work that takes place at the Children’s Hospice. I’m happy to welcome Francis Mouse to Manchester United, I’m sure he’ll put a smile on many faces and really help Francis House with their fundraising activities.”

Francis House Children’s Hospice, one of the charity partners of the Manchester United Foundation, had a visit recently from Sir Alex Ferguson and defender Jonny Evans to lay the first cornerstone of a new £3.5 million seven bedroom extension.
