Unfortunately, unexpected visitors arrive such as Phoebe, Alex’s mother who has discharged herself from an old people’s home, Alex’s son Jamie with a broken ankle and his daughter who is pregnant.

From November 19 to 25 , it is The Actress by Peter Quilter, directed by Mike Russell.

This centres on a colourful, complicated actress making an emotional farewell performance.

Old friends invade her dressing room saying goodbyes, declaring their love, roaring with laughter, spitting insults, grabbing a final embrace and renewing old battles.

From January 21 -27, it’s Gates of Gold by Frank McGuiness, directed by Peter Nawn.

Set in the home of thespians, Gabriel and Conrad, Gabriel is dying and the play addresses his life.

The couple have lived openly gay lives when it was illegal despite a history of misadventures with taxi drivers.

Gabriel’s nurse comes to love him despite her own problems but his sister and her son are selfish, greedy and need love, despite Gabriel’s suffering.

Neil Simon’s Play The Dinner Party from March 18 – 24 is directed by John Chidgey.

Six people sit around a chaotic dinner table. They do not know the other guests until they are invited to dine in a private room in a Paris restaurant. They suspect that this unorthodox dinner party will change their lives.

Finally comes Ladies in Lavender from May 20 to 26, adapted for stage by Shauna McKenna and directed by Carla Stokes.

It’s about two sisters, Ursula and Janet in Cornwall in 1936.

A a talented young Polish violinist is washed ashore and they nurse him back to health.

However, his presence, disrupts their peaceful lives and those of the whole community.
