THERE may not be a pantomime dame but, thanks to Tam Ryan as Muddles, the children are encouraged to shout their socks off in the Opera House's production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

They watch with rapt attention. During dramatic moments such as the apparent death of Snow White they remain silent.

All are enthralled with the beautiful young woman who plays her (the gorgeous Natalie Andreou) whose wicked stepmother poisons her through jealousy and who is cared for by the charismatic Prof (Warwick Davis) and six other dwarfs.

Warwick leads a gang of small actors who know what showbusiness is about. Do they belong to his Reduced Height Theatre Company, I wonder?

He's also done an excellent job directing the pantomime.

The Wicked Queen is none other than Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis. Some of his charisma rubs off on her as she sings her hubby’s well known show stopper Trouble.

Strutting across the stage exuding evil, she deservedly gets booed especially when she mixes poison in a cauldron

I loved the design of the cottage where the dwarfs live and the mine where they work has realistic machinery and trucks to carry the diamonds.

The costume department deserve praise for the glittering apparel worn by the entire cast in the final happy scene where Snow White and her Prince (Philip Olivier) get married.
