FOR The Margs, ditching their old name has allowed the group to boldly go in a new theatrical direction.

As Trafford Margaretians they concentrated solely on musicals. But, since re-inventing the company, revue shows, concerts and pantos, that tried and trusted festive and post-festive family favourite, have been added to its repertoire.

This year panto is Puss In Boots and Anne-Marie O'Connor,, the group's secretary, promised people an evening of traditional family fun.

She said: "We chose Puss In Boots as it’s a traditional Panto that people will be familiar with, we keep it fun and engage the audience throughout and we have added modern day songs and references to keep the kids and of course the adults interested.

"You can’t beat a night out at the theatre with the family, the children love the magic of the characters, booing and the “it’s behind you” and the adults enjoy watching their children having a great time and I think they secretly enjoy it as much as the children to be honest."

Audience members are also invited to bring a special guest who is excluded from the booing, hissing and cheering that is sure to reverberate around Altrincham Little Theatre's intimate auditorium.

She explained: "Make sure your teddy bear is included in your night out, as you are all invited to the teddy bears picnic."

* The Margs present Puss In Boots at Altrincham Little Theatre, Oxford Rd, Altrincham, from December 10-14 at 7.30pm, with Saturday matinees at 2.30pm and Sunday performances at 12.30pm and 4.30pm.
