GRAHAM Brady, MP for Altrincham and Sale West, is a fan of Yes, Prime Minister and the show that came before it, Yes Minister.
Mr Brady said: "They are not political satire but a training manual for British politics. Ministers can only achieve real change if they have direction and determination. Yes,Prime Minister shows us why."
He paid tribute to the role of the civil service and said that one of the problems in government now is that in some ways there are too few Sir Humphreys, because many of the longest serving civil servants have gone to work in the private sector. Although Sir Humphrey is portrayed as being obstructive, he has a Rolls-Royce brain and is has decades of experience.
