Strictly Come Dancing continued its ratings domination as the BBC show’s semi-final drew 4.5 million more viewers than The X Factor final.
Strictly continued to be the most watched show on television as 10 million people – 46.5% of viewers – saw sports presenter Ore Oduba top the leaderboard last night.
The show peaked with 10.9 million tuning in.
On ITV, 5.5 million people tuned in for the first night of The X Factor final, in which boy band 5 After Midnight were knocked out of the running.
This gave the broadcaster a 27% share of viewing, with the audience peaking at 6.2 million.
Some 38% of 16 to 34-year-olds tuned in, making it the most watched programme of the night for that desirable demographic, ITV said.
Tonight Matt Terry and Saara Aalto will go head-to-head in the hopes of impressing viewers and landing votes in last instalment of the series.
Strictly Come Dancing will draw to a close next week, when the final three couples vie to lift the coveted glitterball trophy.
