Notting Hill Carnival is just around the corner and if you’re not yet excited for London’s annual festivities, you will be after this reminder.

One of the best parts of carnival – beside the Caribbean cuisine, hypnotic rhythms blasting out of sound systems and electric atmosphere – are the insanely gorgeous costumes.

We’re rounded up some of the most sensational celebrity carnival looks – jewels, feathers, sequins and all.

1. Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan wowed at Barbados’ Crop Over Festival in 2015, in a simple but striking, citrus-coloured ensemble.

2. Gisele

The Brazilian model graced a float wearing a glitzy gold number at the Rio carnival celebrations a few years ago.

3. Chanel Iman

Victoria’s Secret angel Chanel Iman joined the Crop Over festivities in this bejewelled two-piece, fit with a pretty impressive (and very heavy-looking) head piece.

4. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj headed back to her birthplace of the Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to relive the twin islands’ annual carnival celebration.

Admittedly, it was a staged for the music video of her hit Pound The Alarm, but showcased a stunning array of carnival costumes nonetheless, with Nicki’s inspired by the flag of Trinidad and Tobago.

5 and 6. Amber Rose and Blac Chyna

BFFs Amber Rose and Black Chyna headed to Trinidad this year, slaying in matching pastel-coloured ensembles.

7. Rihanna

Then there is Rihanna, undoubtedly the queen of carnival. Each year, RiRi heads back to her motherland to celebrate the Crop Over – and man, does she look amazing while doing so.

Last year the singer wore a dazzling turquoise outfit, embellished with feathers and gemstones.

In 2013 she wore a heavenly white two-piece, proving no celebrity does carnival quite like Rihanna does.
