Gary Barlow is reported to be in advanced talks to write the entire soundtrack for a film about Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards.
The movie is about famed Olympic ski jumper Eddie, who entered the 1988 games by switching from downhill skiing at the last minute, and finished last in the 70m and 90m jumps.
According to The Sun, the film’s producer Matthew Vaughn is keen to get Gary on board for an Eighties-themed soundtrack to the story.
A source said: “Gary loves the Eddie The Eagle story and Eighties music, so it’s a perfect match. It’s also the first time he would have written an entire soundtrack, so it’s an exciting project to be involved in.”
Gary has worked with Matthew before, penning songs for 2007′s Stardust and the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service.
The Eddie The Eagle film has taken years to get off the ground, with an early version tipped to feature Rupert Grint, but the film, which is now due to be released next year, still hasn’t cast any of the roles.
