Robbie Williams has named his son Charlton Valentine and introduced him to his fans in another on-line video.

The singer posted the film, which shows him holding his baby son and being pushed in a wheelchair by his wife Ayda Field, and joked: “Charlton Valentine Williams has left the building… and Daddy is doing just fine.”

The Angels star kept fans entertained with an online commentary from his wife’s bedside in the run-up to their son’s birth.

Robbie posted a string of videos and pictures showing him in hospital, before concluding the commentary with a clip of the proud parents speaking of their joy at welcoming their son.

“I’ve never been more in love and never been more proud of my wife, she’s been absolutely astonishing,” he told his Twitter followers.

“It’s been a very emotional, amazing few hours and we’re really happy and honoured that you experienced the journey with us.”

The couple, who have a daughter Theodora, posted a series of clips that showed a picture of Ayda wearing sparkly high-heeled shoes, and a video called A River Runs Through It, appearing to show a doctor preparing to break his wife’s waters.

Stoke-born Robbie first hit the headlines in Take That but quit the group in 1995 and embarked on a hugely successful solo career.

He married Ayda in the grounds of his Beverly Hills mansion in August 2010 and their daughter was born two years later.

The name announcement came prior to him announcing a series of shows in Europe, which sees him bringing his Let Me Entertain You tour to Spain, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Israel.
