Amy Childs has said she is "lucky to be alive" after her car overturned last night.

The 24-year-old TV star, who appeared in The Only Way Is Essex, escaped unscathed following the accident in the South Woodford area of north London.

Her Range Rover, which has the distinctive number plate WE11 JEL, came to a rest on its roof with its windscreen smashed, close to a road crossing and outside a pub.

Illuminated crossing signals were knocked over during the crash.

The presenter and beauty salon owner posted a message online which said: "I am so lucky to be alive thank you to everyone for your lovely messages. God was definitely watching down on me."

The white Range Rover was later loaded on to a truck and taken away after police attended.

The accident comes a week after Amy launched a campaign for moneysupermarket.com in which she posed on the bonnet of a smashed car, which had been fitted with the same number plate.

She is reported to have spent £80,000 on the plate, which features one of her TOWIE catchphrases "well jel".
