CHILDREN  from Sale and Altrincham Little Belters are joining forces  for the fourth year running, to sing to runners in the Greater Manchester Marathon on Sunday, April 10

“The runners get an amazing boost from seeing the children perform and having fun dressing up and singing upbeat, motivational music,” said Claire O’Brien, a classically trained singer who runs Little Belters with her opera-singing sister,Tina.

The first time they performed at the marathon, the children had the athletes laughing through their pain when they sang:   What’s that  coming over the hill?   Is it a monster?

The video of their performance became a You Tube hit and they won the prize for Best Entertainment voted for by the runners.

“We get emails and messages from runners who are overwhelmed by the children singing.    Who wouldn’t love to see them shadow-boxing and singing Eye of the Tiger?” said Claire.

Little Belters meet in Sale and Altrincham.   Every child is welcome whatever their ability and each session is a fast paced, high energy group singing lesson.
