Wirral band wows the crowd at debut gig
1:56pm Tuesday 11th October 2011 in Music By Graeme Wakefield
NOTION, an indie/brit pop Wirral band consisting of four 17 year olds recently headlined the O2 academy in Liverpool.
The band attracted close to 200 fans to their first headline show and were welcomed to the stage by the chanting of a restless, roaring crowd consisting of spectators from as far as Manchester and Southport!
The lead singer and guitarist of Notion, Peter Pegasiou, lead by example earning the respect of his audience inducing immediate singing and participation from them.
The band's bassist, Daniel Byrne, proved an attraction in his own right as fans called out to him and rhythm guitarist Elliot Hughes and drummer Tom Davis showed superb musicianship and presence contributing greatly to the overall performance and sound.
Notion, playing a variety of original songs and covers, concluded their set on an extreme high with their own number 'Same old page' of which was finished by the audience themselves as they sung the final line! This finale pretty much sums up what turned out to be a musical feast.
