WHATEVER happened to Alanis Morrisette?

Someone asked me this question and it is easy to see why.

Because since the heady 90s days of Ironic, Jagged Little Pill and even Thank U, her latest works have not made it anywhere near a radio playlist or even been particularly successful.

And while it is easy to understand that the vibrancy and uniqueness of her debut have still gone, there is still to much to admire in Alanis work.

Take latest work Flavors of Entanglement (never one to go for short album titles Alanis!).

Working with Guy Sigsworth (better known for writing with Bjork and Madonna) she has produced an album of sweeping, atmospheric tunes.

What she fails to do though is achieve those challenging lyrics that marked her early years.
