THE Boss is back.

Bruce Springsteen has released his 15th studio album and Magic is a fitting title.

Because this helping of rock - the first with the E Street Band since 2002 release The Rising - is an absolute belter.

Indeed driving to and from work has been extra special this week (it is always exciting of course...) knowing this album was on my car stereo.

Produced by Brendan O'Brien, Magic sees a return to power and energy packed stadium rock anthems that made Springsteeen's career back in the 80s and 70s.

Radio Nowhere opens the album with an explosion and at times in this album there are hints at his classic records such as Born To Run and Streets of Philadelphia.

Your Own Worst Enemy and Girls In Their Summer Clothes are other highlights.

Bruce manages to make something old and reassuring sound fresh.

Whether you are a Bruce fan or not this album will appeal. A fitting release from a man into his 35th year of a stellar career.
