CHERRY Ghost are northern soul - although not in the classic sense.
Every utterance from Bolton's new kid on the block oozes northern life.
Tales of the broken hearted, of gents in boozers reminiscing on life and times gone by. That kind of thing. And he's got a belting set of pipes.
I can understand why there's been a mixed reception to this album. It's one of those that can go either way. Chances are though, if you like the singles (the exceptional Mathematics and anthemnic People Help The People) then the rest of this debut will leave you greatly entertained.
