TWO years ago Theo Hill, then aged nine, played Benjii in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

He sang You were always on My Mind with Jason Donovan in Bradford and Duncan James at the Manchester Opera House.

“It was fun singing with them. They were really nice, “ said Theo.

He had a 'lovely' chaperone in Manchester. “She was called Mavis and entertained me behind the scenes.”

The dancers there prompted him to learn dancing but his first love is singing.

His singing highlight came when he performed a five minute solo in the Snowman at Warrington’s Parr Hall

Theo said: “It was I’m Walking in the Air. I had a screen behind me and the orchestra in front. It was the best experience I have had in theatre.”

In March he appeared as Colin Craven, the invalid boy in Altrincham Garrick’s production of The Secret Garden.

“It was something different. I’m used to playing nice people rather than angry, kicking, screaming children. It was a first for me.

“Joe Meighan, the director, was very good. He didn’t work you for hours and hours. He was just right.”

His mother, Gill, praised Stage Box, Manchester where he performs in their elite team. “He had to go for an audition and is trained by industry professionals,” she said.

He goes to their Manchester studios every Thursday and for five weeks during the school holidays.

He and his twin brother, Seb, also attended Artful Playground’s Summer Drama School at Sale Waterside Arts.

Both brothers have left Altrincham Prep School. Seb is going to Altrincham Boys Grammar School while Theo will attend Sale Grammar School because he likes the drama.

As well as mum, Gill and dad, Andy, they share their Hale home with Barney, the dog, and Chester 'the vicious' cat.
