TWENTY primary school children from Uganda are enjoying the journey of a lifetime, touring as a choir throughout the UK and Ireland – and they are coming to Altrincham.

The members of Abaana New Life Choir, aged between seven and 13, are drawn from across 13 Ugandan Primary Schools built by the charity Abaana.

Abaana works with children living in poverty across Uganda. During the four month tour, the children are giving concerts in churches, schools and workplaces and sharing about life in Uganda.

The aim of the tour is to raise awareness of the plight of other children living in poverty in Uganda and to seek to generate much needed sponsorship for another 200 to 300 children and rescue more children who are currently living rough on the streets.

The Abaana New Life Choir members, aged between 7 and 13, began touring at the beginning of February and continue through to early June.

On Sunday April 23rd at 6.30pm they will be at Altrincham Methodist Church, Barrington Road, Altrincham. WA14 1HF.

The evening is free with a suggested donation of £6 – just turn up on the evening.
