FLIXTON Brass Band has returned triumphant from the Regional Brass Band Championships in Blackpool after becoming the North West Second Section champions.
It beat 20 other bands when it played set piece Rhapsody for Brass by Dean Goffin.
It will now enter the national finals in Cheltenham in September.
If you would like to join a band then go along to Flixton Community Band’s open day in Eden Square, Urmston, on Saturday, March 18 from 10.30am when visitors can try out a brass instrument.
The Community Band, Flixton’s second band, will also play a two hour programme of varied music.
It would like to swell its ranks with people of all ages and musical abilities.
Rehearsals are on Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 12.30pm at a fun venue.
