JON Ronson, who wrote the screenplay for Frank, the film inspired by Frank Sidebottom, and food critic Jay Rayner are among the forthcoming attractions at the Waterside Arts Centre.

The 2015 season launches with the Sale venue's annual pantomime, Aladdin, and Ronson presents his show An Evening of Public Shaming on March 19.

Rayner, recently voted the best food and drink journalist in Britain, serves up My Dining on March 4.

The Waterside also has an exciting musical programme that includes T'Pau, Toyah Wilcox, The Beat, Big Country and The Christians. The smash hit show Soul Legends comes to Trafford in April.

In something of a coup for the WAC, international chart-topping classical guitarist Craig Ogden performs on Wednesday 4 February, tickets limited.

Theatre fans will be spoilt for choice this spring season with high quality theatre brought to Waterside by The Paper Birds Theatre Company with their stunning new production Broke, Sell A Door Theatre Company with cult classic Jekyll and Hyde and Reduced Shakespeare Company in The Complete History of Comedy (abridged).

Due to popular demand Waterside’s film screenings will now be shown in the evenings as well as the current afternoon matinees. The forthcoming programme includes critically acclaimed hits such as Boyhood, Pride, Gone Girl and Northern Soul.

The centre, which celebrated its 10th birthday in 2014, has a strong tradition of family theatre and 2015 attractions include Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Ugly Duckling and Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs.

Waterside’s ever popular Family Club will continue to run every Saturday morning where children and parents/carers can take part in lovely craft activities, story-telling and more; go to the website for details.

Watch out for Frozen Day during February half term – screenings of Frozen Sing-along, Frozen-themed craft activities plus prizes for the best Frozen costume.
