Curves, the women-only gym, has opened at 17 Cecil Road, Hale.
You wouldn't think one exercise club could be that different from any other, but Curves is, and that difference accounts for the success of the chain.
At Curves members work out for just 30 minutes, three times a week, working the upper and lower body on eight machines arranged in a circle so members work out together.

There is always a personal trainer in the centre of the circle to ensure exercises are done correctly. The machines are hydraulic, so resistance depends on the force exerted, which means there's no danger of muscle injury and members work out at a pace that suits their fitness level.
Curves is the largest fitness franchise in the world with 10,000 locations worldwide and can be found in 55 countries, including the USA, Canada, Europe, South America, The Caribbean, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, and it is still growing!
Hale's opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm and 4pm-8pm.
