Stretford businessman Duane Bryan fired from The Apprentice

STRETFORD businessman Duane Bryan heard the words ever contestant on The Apprentice dreads this week - you’re fired!

The 29-year-old was shown the boardroom door after his team failed to win their task - to devise an exercise programme and sell it to representatives from the health and fitness industry.

Duane said he was “gutted” to be dismissed by Lord Sugar on the hit BBC programme.

“I felt that I’d done enough to give myself a second chance - so when I did get the news I was devastated,” he said.

He thinks the video he directed to help sell the exercise programme failed to impress and led to his dismissal from the show.

“Because I put myself forward and directed the video that was their theory behind firing me,” he said.

The former Stretford Grammar School pupil, who runs his own personalised drinks business, said being on the programme was a “life changing experience.”

“The biggest thing I learned was that an entrepeneur isn’t necessarily an individual. An entrepeneur is more about the team - the better the team you can put around you the more likely you are to get the result that you’re looking for,” he said.

The winner of The Apprentice will receive £250,000 from Lord Sugar to help turn hs or her business dream into reality. Duane said the show’s central character knows exactly what he wants when it comes to business.

“Lord Sugar is, very much, in the context that I got to meet him a professional and business comes first. He’s very strong minded and it’s his way or the highway, as they say,” he said.
