ARMED thieves stole money from a betting shop in Sale.

Two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, entered the Coral Bookmakers on Northenden Road and demanded that a member of staff hand over the money.

After stealing a quantity of cash, the two men fled from the shop along Northenden Road.

No one was physically hurt during the incident but the staff member was left extremely shocked.

Police are now appealing to anyone who saw the men entering or fleeing the shop, or has information about the incident, to come forward.

The first offender is described as being about 5ft 7in tall, of skinny build and wearing a black hooded top with an armless yellow high-visibility jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf covering his face. He was also carrying a black cotton bag and spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.

The second man was of mixed race, about 6ft 1in tall and of big build. He was wearing a black hooded top, an armless yellow high-visibility jacket, a black scarf covering his face and was carrying a silver bladed knife. He also spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.
