LOOK out for reindeer in Golborne as the town’s Christmas festivities begin on Thursday (November 26).

Golborne’s wonderful Christmas time will start in style with a reindeer parade from Asda to Peter Kane Square.

There will be carols in the square, and when the parade arrives, the lights will be switched on at 6pm.

Refreshments, provided by Asda, Lidl and Tootell’s Butchers, will be available afterwards at Heath Street Methodist Church.

The three ward members in Golborne and Lowton West have funded the switch-on party. On behalf of them all, Cllr Yvonne Klieve, says: “A warm welcome to Christmas in Golborne, 2009. We’re having a fun party once again – do come along and enjoy the fun.”

The festivities will continue on Saturday 5 December with a Christmas Fair at Golborne Primary School, Talbot Street from 12noon to 3pm. Activities include free face painting, activities from the Playin’ Out team, craft stalls, refreshments and a free Santa’s grotto.
